Yin Yoga uses passive, longer-held positions to delve deeper into our bodies. It addresses the body’s innermost tissues as well as the channels and connective tissues, including ligaments, joints, and bones. Whereas Ashta and Anga are two Sanskrit terms that make up the word Ashtanga. The word “Anga” indicates a limb or bodily component, whereas the word “Ashta” denotes the number eight. As a result, Ashtanga is the integration of all eight limbs of Yoga into a single, comprehensive discipline. These eight limbs of Yoga stand in for the many schools of Yoga Sutra philosophy.
